Altering Digital Images - Photoshop Edited Artwork

I must say I was pretty surprised when this turned up in my inbox

My wife was playing around with her artwork and came across some of my portraits and couldn't resist adding the yellow and "pointy" bits on the top of my portrait of Marlene Dietrich.  I will have to learn fast how to edit hers :)

Editing, I have discovered can eat up hours of my time and still I haven't produced the photographic masterpiece I have in my mind but sometimes it surprises me and I end up with a stack of new and different ideas from just the 
one starting image.
